Watch Review: The Timex Ironman Solar Shock
Timex is probably the biggest selling watchmaker of all time. Like its famous ad campaign boasted long, they do indeed move forward. The Timex Triathlon has established itself as one of the most popular watch models at Walmart, the ultimate testing ground for retail. The Timex Triathlon, one of the original "sports watch", has appeared on the wrists of millions of satisfied urban adventurers. Timex has gone ahead and spruced up this new generation, the Ironman Shock Solar, with a new style case, an easy to read display, solar power, rugged exterior and a shock-mounted hard. It also retains the classic orange signature setting of its predecessors. The Timex debuted with critics generally brighter because it represents a rare combination of affordability with durability. The clock has been called "clock beginner excellence." I can not stop thinking of the beginners are doing their homework. Let's review the features:
?? Plastic box with a stainless steel bezel.
?? Water resistant 200m/660ft.
?? Indiglo backlighting technology.
?? The solar load capacity with the indicator in the loading screen.
?? Shock resistant to ISO standards.
?? 5 alarms.
?? 100-hour chronograph.
?? Digital Display
?? Black resin strap
?? Designed to be used inside the curve of the wrist
?? Chronograph Training Log
?? 75-Lap Recall
?? 3-alarm function
?? 2-interval timer
?? Dual Time Zones
What is amazing about this watch industrial power, they just do not seem outdated. Casio was a success in the performance of the card with the kitsch appeal of retro digital watches classics of the eighties. The Ironman is not about being hip. It is the combination of functionality and aesthetics make it a classic design watch. In the nineties, the "Indiglo" glow in the dark features captured the appeal of younger buyers. As these owners have grown Triathlon, the use of the Ironman again be as strong as the features mentioned (beyond Indiglo) and brand reputation speak for themselves. A college classmate of mine had one, was very pleased with it and never took it off.
The watch also has a 30-lap Chrono, Timer, and an alarm. You can set two different times. The instructions say it's for two time zones, but I just put in military time one of them. The alarm is easy to use and can be set for the weekend day or weekday. This is ideal for me because usually only wakes up during the week. My only complaint would be that I would like the option of setting an alarm time second.
The Ironman further refinements of the design incorporates tried and true flagship triathlon Timex. The Shock Timex Solar is a thoroughbred sports watch that might not have the pedigree of some offerings from Casio or the prestige of an automatic, but that account has in abundance. The Timex is a big step forward because of its inclusion of a solar energy movement. The symbol of a battery charge is shown in the center of the screen between the date and time.
All and all, the clock is really well done. It has lots of features that you really will use, but lacks some bells and whistles of luxury of a more expensive watch. It is innovative and the rubber band is very comfortable. For a cheap watch, I definitely recommend it.
